Job Description Job Description Description: The Voc/Ed
Specialist works under the direction of the Director of TIL
Services. This position will successfully engage and retain young
people referred by the Department of Youth Services (DYS). Through
assessments and consultation, the Voc/Ed Specialist will work with
the young person to develop and implement a career plan. Evaluation
of progress toward goals in the career plan as well as discharge
planning and implementation are expected. This position will build
connections between LUK and key partners and work with young people
to achieve their goals while adhering to LUK’s core values. The
Voc/Ed Specialist will have familiarity with employment resources
in the region and will provide on-site job coaching and supervision
as indicated. Full time position (40 hrs. per week) with benefits.

area employers and staff to assist youth in reaching their fullest
employability potential. Responsibilities Include: Acquiring a deep
understanding and commitment to LUK’s Mission, Vision and Values
and programming and advocacy Develop and maintain an authentic
professional, trauma-informed relationship with youth Conduct
educational/vocational assessments and testing. Foster positive
relationships with area employers to mutually benefit clients and
businesses. Provide on-the-job site support Provide individual and
group job-training skills Implement a competency-based career
readiness curriculum Attend and participate in coordination
meetings with DYS and Commonwealth Corporation Collect and enter
data as indicated Develop and monitor career plans and progress
towards goals Participate in the Emergency On-Call rotation.
Knowledge and Experience Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
experience A demonstrated passion and commitment for working with
young people A demonstrated knowledge of employability skills
training, career readiness assessment and curriculum delivery,
subsidized and competitive job development and labor laws preferred
Experience with youth and young adults with system involvement
Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of employment strategies as they
apply to youth in the community Strong communication skills
Internet access for remote work Reliable and safe transportation
Demonstrated ability to create meaningful relationships Strong
presentation skills Self-starter with great organizational skills
and drive to succeed Bilingual/Bicultural candidates and

Salary Range: $45,000 – $57,000. Salary ranges within each pay
grade are based on qualifications, skills, and experience. Contact
