Job Description:
If youre an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree
and interested in earning valuable work experience prior to
graduating, you may be a good fit for a summer internship placement
in our Environment Health & Safety Department. Our Summer
Internship position is from May/June 2026 - August 2026 and located
onsite in our Tarrytown, NY campus. Project Description: This
position is part of the Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S)
department at Regeneron's Tarrytown headquarters. The internship
provides a hands-on learning experience for a student passionate
about workplace safety, industrial hygiene, and chemical hazard
management. The intern will actively contribute to identifying,
evaluating, and mitigating occupational hazards while gaining
practical and valuable industry experience. Key responsibilities
include: Support the team in ensuring compliance with OSHA and
other relevant regulations. Assist in evaluating workplace hazards,
including chemical, physical, and biological risks. Conduct air
sampling and noise monitoring using industrial hygiene equipment.
Collaborate with the team to improve the hazardous gases program.
Participate in workplace audits and inspections. Assist in
analyzing data to identify trends and recommend solutions. Prepare
clear and concise reports summarizing findings from assessments.
Work closely with industrial hygiene and safety professionals on
various projects. Background Needed: Students pursuing a Bachelors
or Masters degrees within the following majors Biology, Chemistry
or Related Majors Biomedical and Chemical Engineering or Related
Majors Pharmacoepidemiology, Epidemiology, Public Health or HEOR
Majors Industrial Hygiene or Related Majors Skills Needed: Basic
Knowledge of Industrial Hygiene Principles Understanding the
fundamentals of industrial hygiene, such as recognizing,
evaluating, and controlling workplace hazards. Awareness of
chemical, physical, and biological hazards in the workplace.
Chemical Safety Awareness Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
and their use in identifying chemical hazards. Basic knowledge of
chemical labeling systems like the Globally Harmonized System
(GHS).Understanding of proper chemical storage, handling, and
disposal practices. Regulatory Knowledge Awareness of Occupational
Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and regulations.
Familiarity with workplace exposure limits, such as Threshold Limit
Values (TLVs) and Permissible Exposure Limits (PELs). Sampling and
Monitoring Techniques Basic knowledge of air & noise sampling and
monitoring equipment is a plus (e.g., personal air sampling pumps,
direct-reading instruments). Data Collection and Analysis Ability
to collect and record data accurately in laboratory or field
settings. Familiarity with basic statistical analysis and data
interpretation. Laboratory and Field Skills Knowledge of laboratory
safety procedures, including the use of personal protective
equipment (PPE). Technical Writing and Reporting Ability to write
clear, concise reports summarizing findings from data collection
and hazard assessments. Familiarity with creating presentations or
summaries for communication with supervisors and teams. Other
skills: Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft
Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Exposure to specialized software
for industrial hygiene, such as IHSTAT or other exposure assessment
tools is a plus. Teamwork and Communication Skills Ability to work
effectively as part of a team to conduct assessments and implement
safety measures. Strong communication skills for interacting with
employees, supervisors, and other stakeholders. Willingness to
Learn A proactive attitude toward learning new skills, tools, and
concepts. Adaptability to new environments and tasks. Please note
our intern pay ranges are determined by level of education (year in
school) and degree program. The hourly rate range for all other
locations is: $19.00-$36.10 per hour. To be considered for this
opportunity, you must be enrolled in, or accepted to, an academic
program pursuing an Undergraduate or Graduate degree and be
completing your degree in December 2026 or later. A cumulative GPA
of 3.0 is preferred. We want someone who can commit to 40 hours per
week from May/June - August 2026. Demonstrated leadership in areas
