POSITION: Airport Landside Facilities Agent
REPORTS TO: Landside Facilities Agent - Lead
LOCATION: HVN - New Haven, Connecticut
AIRPORT: Tweed-New Haven Airport
The Airport Landside Facilities Agent is a full-time position
focused on maintaining the airport terminal and related facilities.
This position must provide a clean, safe environment for airport
passengers, tenants, and stakeholders, at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include and not limited to
the following:
--- Ability to work autonomously with and without direction from
the Lead, Assistant Airport Manager, or other Airport
Management.
--- Maintain / document daily checklist of activities and notify
supervisor / management of unsafe conditions and/or required
maintenance of facilities.
--- Perform custodial duties including but not limited to:
o Cleaning floors, carpets, windows, doors, walls, seating, and
fixtures with assigned equipment and cleaning supplies - safely
o Cleaning restrooms and other common areas
o Emptying trash and recycling containers
o Replenishing restroom supplies and other sanitary items
--- Operate specialized cleaning equipment including floor
cleaners, carpet cleaners, vacuums, and other cleaning equipment,
safely.
--- Complete all work with ownership to the role in a safe,
responsible manner.
--- Maintain equipment and work environment in a clean, neat, and
orderly condition.
--- Complete routine and non-routine landscaping tasks, including
maintaining flowerbeds.
--- Maintain grounds and fence-line around the perimeter of the
airport, including Dodge Avenue, Burr Street and Dean Street.
--- Assist in snow and ice removal from landside roadways, parking
lots, sidewalks and other snow removal tasks as assigned /
directed.
--- Conduct diligent survey of facility daily and report problems
(safety or other) to management with recommendations for
appropriate action to be taken.
--- Assist with crowd control and other special functions, as
required.
--- Utilize a two-way radio to communicate with airport
personnel.
--- Wear and maintain a clean employee uniform while on duty.
--- Position requires shift work and mandatory overtime.
--- Perform other tasks as directed by Airport Management.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one (1) year
facility cleaning, maintenance, or related experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short
correspondence, and memos, in English.
Ability to write simple correspondence and to effectively present
information in a one-on-one
situation or a small group of customers, clients, stakeholders and
to other employees of the company, in English.
OTHER SKILLS
--- A knowledge of the methods, equipment, materials of facility
maintenance.
--- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
--- Ability to keep records.
--- Ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with other employees and the public.
--- Ability to use two-way radios and other communication devices,
clearly, as required.
MUST POSSESS AND MAINTAIN VALID CONNECTICUT MOTOR VEHICLE
OPERATOR'S LICENSE
