Job Description:
Job Summary:
Plant Maintenance Mechanics A, B & C are responsible for the
maintenance of the facility. This position requires that mechanics
are available for emergencies and for scheduled overtime repairs.
This position may also require working rotating shifts.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Essential Responsibilities:
Mechanical and electrical repair of operating equipment.
Welding and pipe fitting.
Painting.
Insulation work.
Electronic repairs to automatic equipment.
Operate and repair mobile equipment.
Concrete layout and installation.
Motor wiring and installation.
Pump repair to include rebuilding, alignment, and installation.
Preventative maintenance of equipment.
Maintain preventative maintenance log.
Lubrication technique.
Read and understand equipment data sheets and drawings.
Blueprinting reading and ability to fabricate and make repairs from
drawings.
Ability and agility to work at various heights and locations.
Ability to work in a magnetic field. (medical restrictions,
pacemaker, etc.).
Knowledge to be able to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical
problems.

Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic fabrication/repairs
Millwright
Electrician
Instrumental Technician
Boiler Operator Certified - Black Seal or greater
Crane Certified - 20-ton capacity or greater
Carpentry
Pump specialist
Maintenance Mechanic "C"
This is an entry level position and may require a good working
knowledge of four of the trades listed above. This position may be
used as an apprenticeship opportunity, when available, to develop
the required trade skillset.
Maintenance Mechanic "B"
Individuals qualifying for this position have the proficiency level
of a Journeyman in at least two of the trades with a good working
knowledge of the remaining.
Maintenance Mechanic "A"
Individuals can qualify for this position if they have the
proficiency level of a Journeyman in at least three of the trades
listed with a good working knowledge of the remaining.
* - A journeyman is a skilled worker who has successfully completed
an official apprenticeship qualification in a building trade or
craft. Journeymen are considered competent and authorized to work
in that field as fully qualified employees. They earn their
license/certification through education, supervised experience, and
examination.
An example: someone who is considered to be a pump specialist
(trade #9 above) could be a person that has successfully completed
an academic course specific to equipment used in the plant and/or
fluid dynamics or mechanical accredited courses.
Must have the capability of using Fall Suppression Equipment.
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Must be able to pass a 10 panel controlled substance testing and
random testing after that.
Must be able to pass a background investigation check and maintain
in good standing order, as per TSA's TWIC criteria.
Education and Experience:
A journeyman is a skilled worker who has successfully completed an
official apprenticeship qualification in a building trade or craft.
Journeymen are considered competent and authorized to work in that
field as fully qualified employees. They earn their
license/certification through education, supervised experience, and
examination.
An example: someone who is considered to be a pump specialist
(trade #9 above) could be a person that has successfully completed
an academic course specific to equipment used in the plant and/or
fluid dynamics or mechanical accredited courses.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently climbs stairs and ladders.
Frequently bends, stands, and lifts up to 40lbs.
Must be able to work outdoors in different climate conditions.
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
Must be able to walk on secure elevated process platforms more than
15-foot heights
