Business has an opening for a Software Development Engineer
(Engineer, Software Development) that can help support integrators
looking to incorporate Canon imaging products into their solution.
Great opportunity to work with the latest technologies and products
in imaging. The team supports several different product types from
cinema lenses, broadcast lenses, Pan/tilt/zoom cameras, pro-video
products, cinema products, industrial cameras, consumer cameras.
The candidate will work closely with our engineering team here and
in Japan to assist customers utilizing our SDK and APIs. The person
will also interface with the engineering team, sales and product
management team in hardware/software related projects.This position
is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be
in the office Monday and Wednesday and an option to work from home
the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises
requiring in office attendance on other days). Note that work
schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to
time based on business needs. Responsibilities- Plans, designs,
develops and tests software systems or applications for software
enhancements and new products- Works on complex issues where
analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of
variable factors- Leads departmental development efforts.This task
involves the management and/or execution of all phases of
development projects, including requirements gathering, design and
specification, coding, and testing- Participate in SDK review
process which includes the analysis of SDK design, functionality
and performance, and recommendation of future direction for SDKs-
Assists in developing department infrastructure and defining future
direction which includes working with management to define and
improve processes in the department, and the deportment'stechnical
direction- Assists in providing technical support to developers
using Canon SDKs. This task includes assisting department support
staff in situations that require particular expertise and
experience- Provide direction for Software Development Kit
modification; provide expert assistance to the Developer Support
Program when necessary- Develops and designs products, systems or
protocols in the imaging device industry using advanced scientific
knowledge- Assists at trade events from planning, setup,
demonstration and breakdown QualificationsPlease note: We comply

orders and mandates, including those we may be required to follow
as a federal government contractor/subcontractor.- Bachelor's
degree in an engineering discipline required, plus 3 years of
related experience- Full Stack Developer experience is needed to
support system integrators on all layers from hardware to software-
Expertise in Canon SDKs and related technologies is necessary-
Security clearance a plus- Travel required more than 25%-
Individual must possess a clean valid NY state driver's license in
order to obtain the position- This position requires driving,
therefore a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
are necessary. Additionally, because this position requires driving
for company business as an essential function of the job, must
remain in compliance with company safety guidelines and policiesThe
