Salary: Estimated $45,000 annually. Flexible based on experience.Job Location: 100% Remote. Must reside in the U.S. and be willing to travel 1-2 times a year to Austin, TX for meetings as needed.Work Hours: Must be willing to work Monday - Friday CST business hours (approx. 8 AM to 5 PM CST)

  Contract Specialist Role Overview:The Contract Specialist (in-house titled Licensing & Carrier Contracting Specialist) maintains corporate and agency licenses necessary to comply with both state law and Department of Insurance regulations and ensures the timely filing of all corresponding annual state filings. This position requires an individual with excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to meet deadlines are also crucial to this position.The Contract Specialist's primary responsibilities will include helping to support insurance carrier partnership contract changes, new insurance carrier contract development such as through gathering the necessary documentation, and the contractual appointment of AssuredPartners Producers (Sales Executives) to offer AssuredPartner's various approved carrier options to their clients.
  Contract Specialist Responsibilities include:
  • Work with Carriers to contract new and existing agencies
  • Review new and renewal case submission documents and performs due diligence to ensure that all legal documents are accurate and properly executed and ensure proper license and appointments for any brokers or sales staff in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures
  • Obtains broker appointments with insurance carriers prior to the sale of any new insurance product and interacts with the Sales Team to ensure all brokers are properly appointed prior to representation of the carrier's products
  • Track and maintain all broker licenses, appointments and contracts, Error & Omissions insurance, renewal dates, and ensure proper set-up for payments
  • Provide administrative support to the General Counsel, Head of Compliance - Associate Counsel, and Team Lead of Legal & Compliance
  • Follow the company policies and procedures required to comply with applicable data privacy and confidentiality requirements, including but not limited to SOC controls, and HIPAA Privacy and Security regulations
  • Perform other duties as needed to help the department
    Contract Specialist Required Education & Experience:
    • College degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience
    • Previous administrative office experience
    • Previous insurance carrier contracting experience a plus
    • Intermediate level in MS Excel required (must know pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other common accounting formulas and functions)
    • Experience with accounting software required
    • Understanding of insurance claims is a plus
      The Right Person for the job has:
      • Knowledge of state insurance laws and Department of Insurance regulations (a plus)
      • Knowledge of Federal and State licensing requirements and terminology (a plus)
      • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and familiarity with database usage.
      • Ability to research and interpret state filing and compliance documents
      • Ability to learn quickly and cross-train other departmental tasks
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, customer service, and problem-solving skills
      • Must be detail-oriented and able to think and work independently
      • Ability to multi-task
      • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
