Brief Description of Duties: Geometric Functional Analysis and
Reproducing Kernel Hilbert Spaces.doctoral Associate will assist
the Principal Investigator in the department of Applied Mathematics
and Statistics, Quantitative Finance Program. The incumbent will
conduct research in the method development for filtering sparse
nonstationary signals in large dimensional problems with
applications in science, engineering, and quantitative finance.
The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal
Investigator in the Department of Applied Mathematics and
Statistics on a project for coupling techniques for climate
modeling and other multiphysics problems. The goal of the project
is to develop effective methods and software for remapping data
between non-matching meshes to high-order accuracy while being
non-oscillatory near discontinuities and conservative in some local
sense. The successful incumbent will have the ability to
communicate effectively across interdisciplinary studies.
- Develop a flexible programming interface of the remap
- Optimize the efficiency of the algorithm and software
implementation for heterogeneous supercomputers.
- Integrate with parallel mesh data structures and simulation
- Write manuscripts for publication in archival journals and/or
presentations. May also assist in grant writing.
- Other duties as assigned (i.e. Attend scientific conferences
