Job Description:

This position is created to expand functional capacity to address implementation of new and complex cosmetic regulation beginning January 2021 specifically in support of the Cruelty Free brands in China.

This position is directly responsible for supporting China registration of CF brands including assessment of requirements, dossier build for products in scope (250 ), dossier distribution and coordinating issue resolution with China affiliate and cross functional partners in Melville. Responsibilities include supporting the ongoing maintenance and amendment of registrations, developing strategies to bring new ingredients to market while maintaining CF standards. The incumbent will assess and monitor the evolving interpretation of the new regulation and provide impact reports to senior management, focusing on immediate impact on product registrations, related requirements, and overall long-term business impact.

The Senior Analyst will coordinate work with other specialists supporting other brands and countries to minimize duplication of efforts and maximize utility of information, data, and documentation for example to populate the PIF or Product Information File. The incumbent will support internal and external government audits of assigned brands.

The employee will update and maintain of registration databases ensuring consistency, timely registrations, data integrity and reporting to management and stakeholders.

Independently research, generate and distribute registration documentation; including formulas, specifications, COA's, Certificates of Free Sale, durability, claims substantiation, supporting declarations and artwork - according to China regulations. Provide appropriate support and follow-up with market to secure registration and achieve market launch timelines with minimal oversight. Maintain and update registration database to ensure end-to-end registration compliance and consistency. Provide regular follow-up with each market to ensure accuracy of data and compliance with expiry/re-registration timelines per market.

Coordinate additional data information requests with R&D and Regulatory Compliance, obtaining efficacy reports to support product registration, package claims and durability reports. Build network and liaise with brand GBSC and Marketing achieve corporate objectives. Perform research with brand and/or PDS to obtain all variant/kit/set/size artwork and country of origin information required to action and complete product registration on a sku and/or family level.

Uses independent judgment when reviewing technical information based on established regulatory, safety, and corporate practices. Maintain understanding of CSAR and related regulations as it relates to ingredients and finished product. Interface with affiliate, regional staff, trade associations and authorities (as required) to ensure that we have the most up-to-date regulatory information.

  • Knowledge of chemistry and broad cosmetic/drug regulatory experience preferred.
  • Able to summarize complex regulations for non-technical business partners
  • Able to develop and evaluate alternate registration strategies
  • Fully proficient and experienced with Windows Office, Excel and Outlook and computer applications.
  • Minimum Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts with focus on biology, chemistry, biochemistry or toxicology

  • English - both written and verbal proficiency, other language(s) desirable
  • 3-5 years experience
