Responsibilities

Ensure the department is operating in accordance with company principles, policies and guidelines. Ensure the department's assets are utilized and maintained optimally to yield products that meet quality and cost standards. Provide input for improvements and/or capital investments to maintain quality productivity levels Maintain department staffing schedule based on order volume. Ensure the department staffing is properly organized, trained, motivated and supervised so that people understand the company's standards and work towards goals and targets. Coordinate with Planning/Scheduling as well as other Production Departments and interdisciplinary teams. Set targets and goals for operating units to achieve continuous improvements with regard to safety. Strictly adhere to and enforce ALL safety rules and regulations. Monitor and adjust the schedule of the slitting and converting machinery to ensure timely service to customers. Participate fully in task forces/committees. Interview, select candidates for employment and manage department onboarding process. Monitor and manage employee performance and development, conduct personnel evaluations and performance disciplinary action as needed. Initiate all required purchases and work orders. Responsible for the department's compliance with Berry's ISO 9000 certification requirements. Perform a variety of other tasks, of equal or lesser complexity, as needed.

Qualifications

  • The individual should have the ability to read and write in English.
  • The individual should be a high school graduate. Associate degree in Applied Science or technical field is preferred.
  • Experience and working knowledge of MS Office and computer applications.
  • The individual should possess 5 years' hands-on experience in the coating industry.
  • Must possess leadership qualities.
