Fair Haven Community Health Center has been at the forefront of the Covid-19 response in the State of Connecticut and we need motivated professionals to join our team.

Description

Reporting to the Director of Special Programs and Advocacy, the COVID-19 Tester will work with the COVID testing and vaccine teams at various locations in the community and assist with patient intake.

Duties and responsibilities

+ Perform PCR collections for all age groups and processes specimens following established procedures and techniques

+ Follows in-process quality control procedures. Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner, if required.

+ Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis

+ Adheres to universal protocol precautions when disposing of all contaminated items in compliance with standard precautions and protocol while performing phlebotomy and/or laboratory procedures

+ Provide superior customer service to all patients

+ Travel to additional sites when needed

+ The COVID-19 Tester will perform other duties as needed to promote safe and equitable treatment in community sites.

Qualifications

+ High School diploma, or GED is required. Job related experience and clinical experience is referred but not required.

+ Customer Service experience, preferably with the general public.

+ Bilingual (Spanish/English) is also desirable.

+ The successful candidate must be professional in appearance and demeanor; be kind and empathetic and can problem solve and think critically when faced with issues.

Physical Requirements

Physical Demands: Requires walking, bending, sitting, standing, writing, reading, telephone use, data input into computer, pulling medical records,

Mental Demands: Ability to cope with continual changing priorities under potentially stressful conditions

Manual Dexterity Required: Ability to use a keyboard, telephone.
