Job Description:

The Patient Accounts Specialist is responsible for patient account follow-up with all insurance payers and management of denials. Responsible for ensuring work ques are managed and maintained based on productivity standards established by management. Documents and completes all appeal letters to payers within timely filing guidelines ensuring appropriate documentation is attached. Keeps abreast of payer specific regulations/policy. Manages patients accounts by contacting payers to determine claim and payment status.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:* Reviews work ques on a daily basis to ensure productivity standards on patient account follow-up is maintained.* Keeps abreast of current insurance and specific payer information.* Completes appeal letters within timely filing guidelines and processes appeals with necessary documentation to payers using tools, websites necessary; updates account status in billing system* Assists in identifying denial trends, under and overpayments; escalates as necessary .* Assists in preparing documentation as needed by management* Assists in providing resolution to unpaid, unresolved accounts with payers.* Prepares accounts with open balances that need to be sent to collections.* Behaves in a manner consistent with Professional's mission, vision and values.* Maintains a working knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, Risk Management and compliance regulations.* Practices confidentiality in accordance with Company policies and all laws and regulations.* Other duties as assigned by the RCO Management.* Stays abreast of laws and regulations affecting reimbursement.Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree preferred.* 2 years of medical billing, account receivable follow-up experience, with strong emphasis on denial management, third party policy and regulations and process improvement preferred.* Ability to work independently and follow-through and handle multiple tasks and/or special projects simultaneously.Comprehensive Benefits:* Excellent health care coverage, including medical, dental, vision and life insurance* 401k* Paid time off* One additional, paid philanthropy day, to volunteer with a charity of your choice* On-site gym
