Job Description Send resumes to: bobross@tristateplacements.com This position is responsible for providing Manufacturing Engineering support to Production, Development Engineering, and Product Management to ensure the timely production of quality, cost effective parts and assemblies. Participate in continuous improvement programs. This position is on sight fulltime. Responsibilities New Product Development: Provides / develops a set of Best Manufacturing Practices bridging the gap between design engineering and plant manufacturing engineering to guide component and assembly design. Analyzes engineering design of parts and assemblies to determine manufacturability of components, assemblies, and tooling. Work with a team of engineers to ensure all manufacturing requirements / limitations are taken into account from the initial product conception to product launch Analyze and recommend product design changes for ease of manufacturing to reduce cost, improve quality or reduce time to market Identify and implement new process / equipment required to meet the goals of the project Identify new tooling requirements and make recommendations for the most effective implementation Design manufacturing aids and equipment such as jigs, fixtures, molds, ETC. Coordinate with manufacturing site Alpha Runs, beta and pre-production runs Champion key APQP deliverables to ensure quality objectives are met Continuous Improvement: Take part in Kaizen events as applicable Identify opportunities and Champion them through completion Liaison between plant personnel and engineering to help facilitate improvements in productivity, cost, quality and ease of manufacture Perform Cost/Benefit analyses for new and improved processes and/or products Develop manufacturing and operational procedures including ISO documentation Evaluate materials, components and processes for quality, manufacturability, productivity and safety Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required Skills & Abililites Must have the ability to foresee and detect risks related to design, materials, manufacturing processes, quality and performance requirements Must be proficient in ERP systems, Oracle preferred Must be proficient with CAD Software, Solid Works preferred Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Ability to coordinate and facilitate discussions regarding the design, development and introduction of products to meet customer requirement Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees and the general public Ability to use Engineering Economics analysis for decision making process required Ability to understand and apply FMEA, Cpk and gage R&R analysis for manufacturing processes preferred Ability to communicate effectively with all departments and cross functional teams Travel Up to 50% Company Description Fortune 500 Manufacturing Company located in Melville LI NY
