**Total Productive Maintenance Manager (TPM)**

**Description**

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading maintenance and reliability of plant assets, productivity improvement, loss elimination initiatives, and Total Productive Maintenance implementation.

Key responsibilities include managing the maintenance staff, equipment assets, and parts inventory; implementing technological improvements to existing equipment and processes, as well as to driving initiatives related to improving quality, efficiency, compliance and costs; proactively managing preventative and predictive maintenance activities leveraging the plant's Maintenance Program, the Maximo CMMS system; maximizing the value of the plant by project-managing and coordinating Capex (investment) and Opex (repair, maintenance and replacement) projects as required; procuring and managing the Maintenance, Repair and Operating supplies and Utilities expenses; planning, scheduling and executing maintenance activities; and working with the plant Operations, EAS and Quality staff to assure plant facilities and equipment are maintained and operated in a safe, compliant and efficient condition at all times.

Finally, the Maintenance Manager provides leadership in the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance principles including the responsibility for supporting Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Planned Preventative Maintenance (PM), Quality Maintenance (QM), Early Management (EM) of new equipment, continuous improvement (CI), Health, Safety and Environment (EHS) of the workplace, and Educating & Training (ET) of people and teams.

**Role and Responsibilities**

Provide leadership for all maintenance/reliability activities focused on improving the performance of the plant.

**Lead Maintenance Every Day Great Execution (in Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost)**

+ Ensure safe operation of machinery and equipment by completing preventative and corrective maintenance requirements. Create and maintain a safe and compliant work environment in adherence to internal and external regulations (e.g. LOTO, confined space, electrical safety standard, etc), procedures, and policies

+ Champion the behavior-based safety program striving toward reduction in safety incidents by complying with all safety procedures and following all preventive measures, role-modeling safe work practices/behaviors, and holding others accountable to safety standards

+ Ensure that a high quality of products, housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained

+ Drive adherence to all applicable cGMP's, company policies, and all other quality or regulatory requirements (OSHA, DEA, FDA, EPA, etc)

+ Maintain equipment in validated state and oversee repairs in accordance with Engineering and Quality requirements.

+ Effectively assign maintenance resources to maintain the plant operations and to minimize downtime

+ Minimize/mitigate operations risk for down time

+ Maintain and improve equipment change-over efficiency

+ Review daily maintenance effectiveness to identify opportunities for improvement and work with the Plant team for root cause resolution and prevention of issues by development and implementation of corrective and preventive action plans

+ Manage the Plant's maintenance services vendors/contractors (i.e. snow plowing, lawn care, pest control, etc)

**Champion Continuous Improvement**

+ Champion and lead change initiatives and continuous improvement efforts, including the pursuit of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)

+ Oversee plant reliability for long-term production optimization while continuously reducing cost through improved equipment operation, maintenance and upgrades

+ Manage and organize parts inventory using Lean principles. Work to establish optimal part reorder points and maintain critical spare parts availability

+ Implement new or revise current processes and standard operating procedures as needed

+ Continuously improve the plant's PM system so that it is optimally effective in helping to reduce unplanned downtime and maximize productivity, minimize cost

**Develop Talent**

+ Manage and develop mechanics by engaging them and sharing experience. Develop career ladders, cross training, and succession plans. Provide training as required

+ Responsible for employee selection, development, mentoring, and performance management.

+ Responsible for overall maintenance talent management and employee engagement; cultivate a culture of high performance; proactively address employee relations issues

**Qualifications**

+ Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills

+ Must demonstrate a desire and ability to lead and teach others

+ Must be well versed with CMMS Maximo and train others in its use and use the system to maintain appropriate parts inventory and account of all equipment maintenance with emphasis to reduce downtime.

+ Must be a practitioner of Total Productive Maintenance, Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies, to align reliability efforts with, and support existing programs to meet or exceed our Quality, Delivery and Cost performance expectations.

+ Must be able to apply root cause analysis for problem solving

+ Must have a thorough knowledge of processing, packaging, automation, plant systems and utilities, and ancillary equipment, to effectively lead technical resources to achieve high levels of plant efficiency and productivity

+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

+ 5 years minimum experience

+ 0-5% travel time
