Web Programmer Analyst

Direct Hire
Location: New Haven, CT.
Salary: $92K
Hours: M-F (8 to 5).

Overview: The Web Programmer Analyst develops solutions requiring analysis and research, working on small to large complex projects that require increased skill in multiple technical environments. Analyzes, codes, tests, documents, and supports the web applications that are developed and maintained within the ITS and interfacing with outside vendors. Performs some design work. The Web Programmer Analyst will collaborate with our UI/UX team, mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative environment.?
Responsibilities:
Analyze new assignments and design programming requirements and software specifications and serve as technical lead as assigned.

Prepare business cases that define potential benefits, options for achieving these benefits through development of new or changed processes, and associated business risks.

Prepare effort estimation including researching and estimating costs of software development, unit testing. May provide estimates for upgrades of vendor packages upgrades and integration with existing systems.

Participate in design of solutions with business analysts, business systems analysts, programmers, solution architects, and other team members.

Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.

Develop and utilize standard templates to accurately and concisely convey technical design.

Program and test all or selected components of complex applications/?Integration with packaged solutions as needed.

Analyze and resolve test result problems and debugs production issues.

Assist with coordinating technical teams for work on project initiatives.

Guide, train and mentor Programmer Analysts and other technical staff. May conduct peer reviews as needed for projects and initiatives.

Gather, synthesize, and update documentation regarding technology processes or systems.

Produces deliverables related to the project(s) and/or production support as assigned.

Provide post-implementation support.

Providing input for user interactions on web pages.

Developing back-end website applications.

Ensuring cross-platform optimization and responsiveness of applications.

On-call and/or after-hours work required.

Skills Qualifications
Knowledge on Multi page Vs. Singular page application architecture.

Experience working with graphic designers and converting designs to visual elements.

Understanding and implementation of security and data protection.

Development experience for both mobile and desktop.

Experience with cloud message APIs and usage of push notifications.

Knowledge of code versioning tools (such as Git, Mercurial or SVN).

Seeing through a project from conception to finished product.

Should have knowledge of load testing.

Should be familiar with Task Runners, Build Tools, Process Automation Tools.

Should be comfortable with Modules, Dependency Managers and Package Managers.

Should be aware of Templating Strategies and templating Engines.

Familiarity with WebSockets.

Able to integrate with Content Management Systems (aka CMS).

Should be comfortable with data formats such as JSON / XML.

Designing and developing APIs- RESTful Services.

Meeting both technical and customer needs.

Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages.

Knowledge of relevant business areas.

Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple initiatives.

Effectively participates in teams and moves the team toward completion of goals Systems/Technical Knowledge.

Highly experienced with back-end programming languages Ex: Python, Ruby, .NET, JavaScript, Java, HTML5, CSS3, JUnit, JSP, Servlets, Struts 2, JDBC, Spring, Hibernate, Eclipse, Rational Application Developer.

Proficient experience using JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as Angular, Vue.js, R.js and Node.js, Bootstrap.

Database development, production support and debugging experience with SQL preferably with DB2 / Microsoft SQL Server.

Batch Job scheduling using Legacy DTS/, SSIS?package, BODI and DTS--> SSIS migration?experience.

Enthusiasm, Patience, and interest to go after the issues involving one or multiple applications/databases/workflows.

Passionate about understanding and solving problems faced by the business customers and resolve those issues with a quick workaround to fully functfunctional/permanenttion in a timely manner is necessary.

Timely completion of allocated production issues and prioritizing them according to the size, business impact and work workloaderstanding of server-side languages including (such-as Jade, EJS, Jinja)

Understanding of WebSphere Application Server and MQ Services.

Education:
BA or BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field required.

5 or more years related IT work experience in software development?with production support experience, installation and modification in an online environment or equivalent combination of training and experience Preferred:

ITIL Foundation certificate preferred.

Pay Details: $92,000.00 PER YEAR
