Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $86,650.99 -
$134,309.04 The Clinical Expeditor Register Nurse (RN) is a
clinical operations specialist embedded within the Capacity Command
Logistics Center (CCLC). This role accelerates patient flow,
enhances transitions of care, and resolves barriers across
inpatient units, the Emergency Department (ED), and the
perioperative environment (including OR, PACU, procedural and
diagnostic spaces). The RN serves as a mobile clinical liaison
among inpatient teams, ED clinicians, perioperative services,
imaging/diagnostics, outpatient departments, CM/SW, and Logistics
Operations Supervisors. The role uses clinical judgment, real-time
capacity data, and Epic readiness tools to identify opportunities
to advance progression, expedite discharges, improve admission
flows, and reduce avoidable delays. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities CLINICAL & OPERATIONAL EXPEDITING Conduct clinical
readiness assessments for patients nearing discharge, transfer, or
level-of-care change. Prioritize interventions based on acuity,
risk factors, and capacity pressures. Collaborate with inpatient
nursing, providers, ED teams, perioperative teams, Case Manager
(CM)/Social Worker (SW), pharmacy, EVS, PT/OT, and transport.
Support strategies to reduce avoidable days and optimize discharge
reliability. IMAGING, DIAGNOSTICS & PROCEDURAL COORDINATION Liaise
with Imaging, Lab, Pathology, Cardiology Diagnostics, Endoscopy,
and procedural areas. Identify delays impacting readiness or
throughput and escalate appropriately. Assist with sequencing of
high-priority studies based on clinical need and operational
constraints. ED & PERIOPERATIVE FLOW SUPPORT Support
ED-to-inpatient placement and reduce ED boarding. Assist with
prioritization of ED admissions during high volume or Tier
escalation. Collaborate with OR/PACU/procedural areas to support
post-procedure progression and safe placement. OUTPATIENT &
TRANSITION-OF-CARE COORDINATION Coordinate with outpatient services
such as infusion, dialysis, wound care, therapy, and specialty
clinics. Work with Case Manager (CM)/Social Worker (SW) to resolve
complex discharges requiring community-based resources. Identify
opportunities to shift appropriate inpatient needs to outpatient
follow-up. COMPLEX CARE ROUNDS & ESCALATION SUPPORT Participate in
complex care rounds to identify progression barriers. Escalate
systemic issues to Logistics leadership, nursing leadership, or
CM/SW. COMMAND CENTER LOGISTICS INTEGRATION & REAL-TIME OPERATIONS
Collaborate with Logistics Operations Supervisors and the Transfer
Center. Utilize dashboards, analytics, and tier plans to guide
priorities. Provide clinical insight during capacity huddles and
surge events. WORKFLOW TESTING & OPERATIONAL IMPROVEMENT Support
development and pilot testing of new operational workflows. Provide
structured feedback and contribute to spread of successful
workflows. Flex between direct expediting and project-based work as
needed. Qualifications Associate's Degree In Nursing - required
Bachelor's Degree - preferred 4-6 years Clinical Experience -
required Clinical expertise (High proficiency) Communication and
professionalism (High proficiency) Ability to problem-solve as it
relates to patient flow, Bed Management and Capacity Management
(High proficiency) Utilization and data entry into EMR and
technology (High proficiency) Ability to interpret real-time data
to drive decision-making (High proficiency) Ability to work within
and with large teams (High proficiency) RN - Registered Nurse -
State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure NYS Licensure Upon
Hire - required Equivalent combination of relevant education and
