(required) Description: Seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered
Nurse for a night shift position. The nurse will work 3 twelve-hour
shifts from 19:00 to 07:00. Two years of experience in Labor and
Delivery is required for applicants. First-time travelers will be
screened for experience. Patient age groups range from neonates to
adults. Weekend coverage will be every other week. The unit has 15
beds and follows inpatient rooming with infants. All infants will
stay in rooms with their mothers. A newborn nursery will be
available when needed for infants requiring special care. The
following certifications are required: ACLS, AWHONN Beginner, BLS,
and NRP. Preferred certifications include AWHONN Advanced and
AWHONN Intermediate. The nurse will perform various skills
including assist with vaginal delivery, discharge teaching to
parents, and newborn assessments. Knowledge of specific medications
and procedures in Labor and Delivery is essential. Experience with
electronic charting systems is preferred. The daily census is
approximately 8 patients. Interdisciplinary support services
include physical therapy, respiratory services, and social
services. Nurses may be involved in special procedures and must be
familiar with protocols for newborn care. The nurse should be
prepared for a range of patient diagnoses and conditions. 5
