About the Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, Dental Care
Center:
The Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine is the largest provider
of oral health care services on Long Island. The Dental Care Center
is the teaching clinic of Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine.
Within our state-of-the-art facility, quality, affordable care is
provided by well-trained students and post-graduate residents under
the guidance of experienced faculty members. The Dental Care Center
proudly offers every dental specialty in one location,
incorporating the latest technologies and materials in treatment.
We have several Dental Assistant openings.
Brief Description of Duties of the Dental Assistant:
Preferred Qualifications: Preference is given to Dental Assistants
having prior experience and training. Bi-lingual in Spanish. Has
worked in other specialty offices. Certified in BLS.
Special Notes: These ares full-time positions 37.5 hours per week,
Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. FLSA Nonexempt
position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.

In accordance with the New York State Department of Health (DOH)
regulation that all hospitals and nursing homes "continuously
require all personnel to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19,"
Candidates who are not already partially vaccinated must obtain the
first dose of the vaccine within three (3) calendar days of
acceptance of conditional job offer and must obtain any subsequent
doses in accordance with the vaccine protocol, including booster
vaccines. Candidates who are partially vaccinated, but not yet
fully vaccinated, must complete their vaccination series within
three (3) calendar days of job offer or in accordance with vaccine
manufacture protocol, whichever comes later.
The regulation also includes those who may be affiliated with or
interact with employees of a hospital or nursing home. The
regulation allows for limited exemptions with reasonable
accommodations, consistent with applicable law.
Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result
in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment
offer.
*The hiring department will be responsible for any fee incurred for
examination.
