Job Description:
Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for managing
the individuals care by promoting and restoring their health
through the nursing process: collaborating with physicians and
multi-disciplinary team members; providing physical and
psychological support to families; and supervising staff members.
The RN reports to the Clinical Director.The Agency Nurse (RN) shall
be responsible for the supervision of unlicensed direct care staff
in the performance of nursing tasks and activities.
- Train and supervise the administration of medication and
documents findings.
- Collect and interpret clinical data and will determine
appropriate intervention needed.
- Will make sure necessary medications are available to
individuals.
- Prioritize individual medical needs and provide necessary
nursing care.
- Will provide counseling and case management for assigned
individuals.
- Will develop individualized care plans based on physician
recommendations and orders
- Assess and provide medically related trainings to DSPs
- Instruct at least one agency-wide medically related
training
- Will initiate standing doctors orders to ensure that they are
communicated and followed
- Will utilize the nursing process and triage agency individuals,
when necessary.
- Collaborate and communicate with Directors and Residential
Management and Staff
- Participate in at least one agency committee
- Attend trainings to remain current in field
- Ensure that staff within program is appropriately trained in
any person-specific medical needs.
- And other duties as assigned
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervise residential
medical technician(s); responsibilities include but are not limited
to time approval, corrective actions, oversight and evaluation of
responsibilitiesRegistered Nurse in NYS. Valid New York State
Drivers License requiredRequired qualifications:
- 18 years or older
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- At least bachelor's degree or higher
- Medical license/certification: RN
- Valid driver's license
