Responsible for providing a high level of administrative support in
a clinical environment. This position will oversee and coordinate
all aspects of clinical administrative support within these areas
and its inter-relationship with all other offices and areas in the
Department. Assumes responsibility for tasks which support clinical
providers, and patients thereby resulting in efficient, high
quality care; tasks include but are not limited to:
Prepares and distributes all documents related to patient care by
Provides general communication in a clinical environment to clients
and prioritizes urgent requests for resolution in a timely and
expeditious manner to the appropriate responsible faculty or

calls, and visitors.
Identifies and resolves administrative problems and issues related
to clinical matters.
Develops and recommends clinical administrative support
processes/procedures to assure efficiency.
Interprets and communicates clinical operating policies.
Picks up and delivers clinical materials as requested.
Scans clinical specimen paperwork and slides in accordance with

Assists with preparation of tumor board and other clinical
conference (eg., liver conference) materials.
Maintains clinical records through filing, retrieval, retention,
storage, compilation, updating and destruction.
Establishes and maintains an organized filing system according to
office procedures to ensure the expeditious retrieval of clinical

coordinates and assists with planning of special projects and
events related to clinical areas of interest, as directed by

tables, records and other sources of information as it relates to

Provides follow-up and coordination of clinical case management

community physicians, and agencies.
Collaborates with physician liaisons to establish relationships and
ensure ongoing dialogue regarding patient referrals and needs.
Functions as a resource for patients and physicians requiring
coordination of services.
Contacts and collaborates with referring hospitals, healthcare
facilities, and providers to gather necessary information required
to facilitate all associated administrative aspects related to
specimen handling, requests for additional materials, case
management resolution and process, inpatient and outpatient
Coordinates the flow and communication of PHI under HIPAA
guidelines to the appropriate provider.
Assures all necessary information is documented and communicated to
members of the healthcare team.
Other duties as required.
Oversees and coordinates administrative, program, and office
activities directly related to clinical operations. Establishes,
selects, implements, and coordinates office procedures and systems.

on policies, procedures, programs, and office activities as it
relates to clinical matters.
Oversees, instructs, and coordinates activities of support staff. -
Oversees the preparation of materials for grants, contracts and
budgets. Monitors expenditures and reconciles financial

and edits material for grammatical and factual accuracy. Tracks
copy through various editing and production stages. Communicates
with authors, printers, and others concerned with published

Compiles, synthesizes and manipulates data. Summarizes findings and

nature of business. Responds to requests for information and
provides assistance. - Screens and responds to mail.
Formats, keyboard, proofread, and edits correspondence, reports,
manuscripts, grants, and other material. Assembles attachments and
corresponding material. Reviews outgoing material for completeness,
dates, and signatures. - Composes substantive correspondence and

meetings and appointments. - Orders and maintains inventory of
supplies. - Takes minutes or dictation. - Performs additional
functions incidental to office activities.
Six years of related work experience, four of them in the same job
family at the next lower level, and high school level education; or
four years of related work experience and an Associate's degree; or
little or no work experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related
field; or an equivalent combination of experience and
