Job Description:
1. Conduct training needs analysis, develop training plan and
implement appropriate training based upon the needs analysis 2.
Develop training and educational materials utilizing Word,
PowerPoint, Captivate or other appropriate technologies for the
University community in the area of sponsored projects
administration for a wide range of compliance areas from the
pre-award functions of proposal preparation, award and budget
establishment to the post award functions of expenditure management
and control, financial reporting, effort reporting and monitoring
awards. 3. Responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of training
programs and making recommendations for improvement as well as
implementing the approved recommendations. 4. Evaluate, develop and
implement the most appropriate mechanism for educating the
University community, including auditorium training, classroom
training and computer-based training. Organize and manage training
sessions, maintain trainee database. 5. Work to develop, support
and implement a comprehensive training program for sponsored
projects administration that includes online courses and ongoing
evaluations. 6. Represent OSP in university training initiatives 7.
Manage and update the OSP training website. 8. Develop and schedule
Brown Bag sessions for business administrators in coordination with
OSP staff and their recommendations. Determine agenda and
presenters for each session/area of topic; send email invites and
reminders to research community and follow up with surveys. 9.
Coordinate targeted training for staff and/or departments that have
been identified as needing additional training for sponsored
projects administration. 10. Conduct instructor-led
training/educational programs when appropriate. 11. Partner with
the Cross Campus Training Committee (CCTC) to create training
materials from provided content. 12. Other duties as assigned.
Required Skill/ability 1: Demonstrated experience in the
development and delivery of an educational program to a community,
preferably a research university. Excellent writing and editing
skills with the ability to edit documents for grammar, design, and
consistent formatting. Familiarity with learning & development best
practices/pedagogy. Required Skill/ability 2: Ability to maintain
website content with an understanding of usability and design.
Proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to work
collaboratively with other departments to resolve problems.
Required Skill/ability 3: Excellent verbal and written
communication skills as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated, takes initiative, and values collaboration.
Required Skill/ability 4: Advanced computer proficiency with MS
Office. Ability to learn new training software such as Articulate
to create interactive eLearning material. Ability to create surveys
and forms using various applications such as Qualtrics.
Demonstrated ability managing database lists. Required
Skill/ability 5: Demonstrated working knowledge of federal policies
and regulations as they relate to the financial management and
administration of sponsored projects. Familiarity with the award
lifecycle. Preferred Education: Three or more years' experience in
the field of sponsored projects. Two or more years of
training/teaching experience or curriculum development. Holds a
degree or certificate in: instructional design, education/higher
education, education administration, etc. Work Week: Standard (M-F

a university and/or healthcare setting or an equivalent combination
of education and experience.
