Job Description:

The Sports Information Director is responsible for all facets of serving as the marketing and communications specialist for a 17-sport Division III intercollegiate athletic department. Specific duties include: Serving as the primary media contact for the athletic department, a compilation of game statistics, completing reports and nominations for NCAA, GNAC, and regional honors, oversight of event management, maintenance of the athletic website and social media platforms, and coordinating the video efforts and video streaming of the athletic department. Other duties include the dissemination of press releases, development of marketing strategies for the athletic department, maintaining the department's historical archives, and serving as the main caretaker of the Athletic Hall of Fame as well as any other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. This position may assume the title/role of Assistant Athletic Director or another designation based on qualifications and experience. Major Duties and Responsibilities: - Serves as the primary media contact for the Athletic Department. - Supervises a staff of full-time Assistant Sports Information Director, Communications/Operations Assistant, and Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant. - Assists in maintaining an accurate athletics website and social media presence for Albertus Magnus College, inclusive of timely game updates, human interest features, video highlight packages, student-athlete, coach, and staff biographies, etc. - Serves as a primary statistician for home athletic events, including the performance of in-game software for all home games (Presto Stats, NCAA Live Stats, etc.). - Assists in maintaining current, accurate, and organized files for assigned sports. Files should include rosters, schedules, game results, statistical information, historical information, and newspaper releases. - Responsible for the day-to-day management of the athletics department's social media accounts, such as graphics and creative direction of platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. - Coordinates live broadcasts for home athletic contests. - Oversees in-game management staff such as photographers, videographers, graduate students, interns, work-study, broadcasters, PA announcers, and per diem staff (ex., Time it Right). - Provide and assist head coaches with game film files for external video viewing usage (ex., HUDL). - Assists in writing and reporting information for all games to local media and serves as a contact person for hometown media outlets. - Provides post-game statistics and synopses to opposing institutions, the GNAC Conference office, and NCAA. - Serves as a lead marketing specialist for the Athletic Department for both on-campus and off-campus marketing and liaison between the Athletic Department and Marketing and Communications Office. - Assist with college promotional collateral and event planning, including Homecoming, Athletic Hall of Fame, Albertus Madness, Commencement, etc. Work Schedule Requirements: Nights and weekend hours are required. Benefits: Full-time employees are eligible to receive medical, dental, and vision benefits. Full-Time employees can earn between 18-23 paid time off a year. The employer covers tuition remission after 90 days of employment and covers 100 % (employees responsible for books and technology fees).   • Three or more years of significant experience in a sports information environment.
  • Experience in intercollegiate sports information as it relates to public relations, marketing, and promotions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all NCAA and GNAC Conference guidelines for media requirements and compliance.
  • Proficiency in Adobe publishing platforms (InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere, etc.).
  • Experience with in-game statistical programs (Genius, Presto Stats preferred).
  • Experience working with Content Management Systems for outsourced athletic websites, preferably with either the Presto Sports or Sidearm platforms.
  • Proficiency in the use and knowledge of all social media platforms, specifically Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Proficient knowledge of a full range of production techniques, including graphics, photography, videotaping, editing methods, and equipment.
  • Strong oral communication and writing skills.
