Job Description:

A pharmaceutical company in Connecticut is actively seeking a self-motivated and dynamic professional to join their staff as their new Tax Senior Manager. In this role, the Tax Senior Manager will assist with the preparation and review of global income tax provision and annual effective tax rate calculations on a quarterly basis, including all supporting calculations and documentation.

Responsible

The Tax Senior Manager will:

• 
  
• Assist with the preparation of internal management reporting packages
  
• Assist in recognizing potential tax exposures and responsible for the inventory of uncertain tax reserves in accordance with IAS12
  
• Monitor income tax payable accounts and reconcile on a quarterly basis
  
• Model effective tax rate implications of proposed domestic and international tax laws, potential tax planning initiatives, and other various one-time transactions
  
• Assist in coordination with external compliance engagement teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of international and US income tax returns
  
• Assist in reviewing return-to-provision calculations and incorporate the impact of return filings into the company's tax provision
  
• Assist in the preparation of other global tax regulatory filings as they arise
  
• Assist various team members in modeling the tax consequences of various transactions
  
• Support data gathering and scenario modeling for US federal income tax audits
  
  
  Qualifications
  
  
  • 
    
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Certified Public Accountant
    
  • 5+ years' experience with a Big 4, regional accounting firm, or corporate tax department
    
  • Experience across tax disciplines including income tax accounting (ASC 740 and IAS12), income tax compliance, and general corporate tax principles
    
  • Strong computer skills and functionality with the Microsoft Office suite of products
    
  • Ability to manage and lead both projects and processes on a "one off" and continuing basis
    
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
    
  • Ability to manage and lead both employees and/or outside consultants
    
    
    Desired skills
    
    
    • 
      
    • Post-graduate study in Taxation
      
    • Willingness and aptitude for learning new tools and techniques and transferring training to everyday activities
      
    • Knowledge of SAP, OneSource Tax Provision, and/or Longview Tax
