None - Not included in the union (Yale Union Group)Standard (M-F equal number of hours per day)Searchable Job FamilyResearch/SupportTotal # of hours to be worked:37.5Position Focus:The Yale Center for Infection and Immunity will build a collaborative network of both established Yale investigators and junior investigators within and outside Yale with the common goal of improving vaccines, diagnoses, treatments and cures for infectious and autoimmune diseases. Through uniting expertise in clinical, epidemiological, and interventional approaches with fundamental research in immunology, virology, microbiology, genetics and computational sciences, the Center will develop a longitudinal collection of patient samples, immune response profiles, symptomology, and machine learning data. To this end, CII is recruiting a Scientific Program Director, to shape and advance these ambitious clinical and research initiatives. They will report to and work in conjunction with the CII Head and faculty members to manage the activities of the Center including member meetings, media relations, patient outreach and communication, symposia, grant writing, fundraising, and grantmaking efforts. They will also train and supervise future program staff, including Clinical Coordinators, Data Managers, Data Analysts, Research Associates, and Lab Assistants to ensure timely and organized data collection and analyses and coordinate efforts with various Yale offices such as Yale Human Research Program, Yale Center for Clinical Investigation, Yale Animal Resources Center, Office of Sponsored Projects, Office of Cooperative Research, and the Dean's Office. Oversee and maintain strong relations between Center collaborators and community partners to enhance diversity, mentorship and professional development. Oversees the advancement and growth of the program. Gives direction and leadership supporting the philosophy, mission, strategy, and annual goals and objectives. Assumes primary accountability for disseminating and publishing all program information to create public awareness and support of the program. 2. Works closely with leadership, internal and external colleagues, and community residents to further develop and implement strategic plans. 3. Identifies, solicits, and cultivates community partnerships and collaborations to assist in the development and growth of the program. Develops the metrics to identify and measure the success of the program. 4. Assists in identifying and evaluating potential future funding sources and contributes to the submission of grants and contracts supporting the program, including the annual submission and writing of all content areas and budgetary sections of grant applications. Develops and manages the program's operating budget and strategizes, develops and implements grantmaking initiatives. 5.Develops the administrative infrastructure of the program. Manages human resource and administrative functions of the program, including staffing and hiring, supervision, performance development, counseling and discipline, if warranted. Oversees and manages information systems, facilities, and space needs. 6. Investigates, identifies, implements, and oversees the maintenance of systems to gather, track, and report information to support the initiatives of the program. Tracks all program activities and regularly informs leadership of progress on each initiative. Recommends structural or programmatic adjustments, changes or additions based on full knowledge of missions, goals, and objectives. 7. Initiates, designs, and manages the compilation of program communications; identifying outreach potential and promoting philanthropic and collaborative support of the program. Contributes to the development and assists in the management of content on the program's website and monitors all changes and additions to the editorial content

Required Skill/Ability 3:Excellent writing and managerial skills
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:2 years of experience or MS in related field with 5 years of experience in program management and basic research and/or clinical research.
