Director of Employee Relations Full Time New Haven, CT, US 16 days ago Requisition ID: 1153 The Director of Employee Relations is a member of the Executive Team and reports to the CEO. This position has responsibility for HR functions across the organization as well as providing coaching and support to all leaders. -The ideal candidate has 5+ years' experience in Human Resources and legal compliance including Recruiting/Hiring/Termination, HR Employee Communication, Employee Relations, HR Policy Administration/Policy Revision, Compensation, Awards/Recognition, HR Database/Reports, Benefits Administration, Organizational Development/Performance Management and Employee Engagement/Culture. Carries out all duties with a high level of confidentiality.Annual Salary: $90K to $100KResponsibilities:

  • Supervises Human Resources Team consisting of a Recruiter and a Benefits Specialist.
  • Align HR philosophy, policies, practices and objectives align with desired culture.
  • Maintains a positive relationship with all staff to facilitate open communication, cooperation and collaboration.
  • Provides coaching and guidance to supervisors regarding performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, policy administration, employee mediation and employment termination.
  • Oversee New Hire Orientation: deliver HR module, modify overall process to keep up with organizational growth and change, collaborate with subject matter experts and department heads to keep content current. -
  • Plans and oversees continuous education to develop and maintain the Mary Wade culture of caring, foster employee engagement and align employee behavior with company goals.
  • Works to handle all HR matters with an eye toward minimizing liability.
  • Produce monthly newsletter.
  • Develop and implement employee award, recognition, and appreciation programs.
  • Conducts investigations, documents appropriately and makes recommendations for resolution
  • Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation structure.
  • Handle organization wide communication regarding HR policies, procedures and events.
  • Collaborates with CFO and Payroll regarding benefit and payroll administration to ensure state and federal compliance and 403(b) plan documentation, administration, regulatory filing, etc.
  • Works across the organization to ensure a strong employee safety program.Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, HR Management or related field.
    • SHRM Certification or Master's Degree a plus
    • 5 years' progressive experience in HR or related field
    • 1-3 years supervisory experience
    • Experience with ADP Workforce Now a plus
    • Must have strong computer, written, communication and presentation skills
