Training and Capability Director (EHS)

Job Description:

This role is responsible for developing and deploying the EHS learning strategy which ensures world class, benchmark capabilities across the entire ELC enterprise. Create, deploy and manage the EHS capability and competency matrix, the supporting training and development initiatives and monitoring processes ensuring capability and compliance. Create, manage, and deploy a training and development ecosystem which ensures EHS excellence, maximizes employee talent, capability and opportunity, and delivers our corporate objectives.

* Lead the global EHS organization in developing and deploying the EHS compliance and sustainability training strategy, global portfolio of training, skilling and readiness programs
* Lead a global team responsible for our long term training strategy, owning end-to-end curriculum management
* Lead the EHS organization in training and development of 'Community of Practice', ensuring global subject matter experts are engaged and contribute to training strategy and best practice identification and deployment
* Directs the design, planning, and implementation of EHS training programs
* Plan and lead the oversight of the establishment and maintainance of the portfolio of training and development tools and capabilities for the department (custom and off-the-shelf)
* Distill regulatory requirements across dozens of compliance areas in EHS to ensure all aspects of required training are met in content and timing.
* Establish and maintain the required systems, monitoring/assuring effective training deployment, regulatory compliance, and employee traceability
* Manage the establishment and maintenance of the on-boarding requirements / programs for value chain and commercial staff in all regions and in all necessary languages.
* Direct staff to establish and maintain solutions for specific training content
* Guide team to develop and maintain the EHS training & competency matrix in line with market / industry benchmarks
* Lead team to develop, deploy and manage competency audits to identify competency gaps and execute strategies to remediate
* In conjunction with COE Lead, prepare the global, annual operating plan and budget for training and development

This position provides leadership, expertise, direction for EHS Training and Capability workstream, establishing program specific goals and a global strategy.

MANGEMENT

* A successful candidate for this role will have extensive knowledge and technical specialization in adult learning and knowledge of training systems to implement and manage a team of learning management individuals for ELC's locations worldwide, including manufacturing sites, warehouses and distribution centers, office buildings, laboratories, and retail locations.

Minimum 10 years' leading training efforts for a large global organization, developing and delivering training content, partnering with leadership to build course work, and evaluating results

* Experience collaborating and driving projects with distributed teams across multiple timezones, languages and cultures strongly preferred

GLOBAL EDUCATION STRATEGY & APPROACH

* Ability to facilitate strategic discussions with business leaders to identify needs, align on goals, scope requests, and plan strategy for new product training, delivery, and scale
* Strong leadership skills, agile to adjust to different levels of the organization to achieve results
* Deep understanding of adult learning theory and ability to implement learning solutions that are interactive and learner-centered
* Thinks critically to challenge status quo and come up with innovative solutions
* Help drive education strategy, implement & deliver a comprehensive education

program; 'big picture thinking'
* Lead career pathing for EHS team through creation of career pathing system and matrix
* Develop and deploy all Global Education initiatives
* Bring to life the EHS training approach for individuals within Global manufacturing sites, warehouses and distribution centers, office buildings, laboratories, and retail locations through the creation of in person content and virtual trainings

TRAINING AND CONTENT CREATION

* High proficiency in MS Office and LMS systems, such as Articulate 360
* Oversee the planning and timely implementation of all learning content for all regions
* Track record of successfully designing, developing, and delivering high-impact training programs to a global audience of onsite and remote learners using a variety of techniques (e.g., instructor-led training, self-paced online courses and/or videos, on-the-job training, and simulations.)
* Lead and manage direct reports in the conceptualization, writing and development of learning content
