The successful candidate will become part of an exciting and dynamic structural group.Your Key ResponsibilitiesOversee design development for new bridges and rehabilitation of existing bridges.Perform load rating analysis of existing bridges.Perform design calculations, drawings, and details for various bridge design projects.Mentor and monitor junior structural engineers' work.Review shop drawings produced by fabricators and detailers, calculations performed by other engineers, coordinate with design team, site visits to address site issues and verify existing conditions, and respond to request for information.Assist with the management and administration of projects, including budget tracking, developing staffing requirements, coordinating quality reviews, and assuring compliance with Health, Safety, Security and Environment fundamentals.Coordinate with clients as required to assure projects are delivered on time and on budget.QualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsLicensed Professional Engineer with license in the State of CT.Proficiency in STAAD, CSI, SAP, AASHTOWare BrR and other structural analysis and design software.Ability to develop drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation, including conformance to CTDOT Digital Design EnvironmentUnderstanding of design codes and agency standards such as AASHTO, ASCE, AISC and ACI..Strong oral and written communication skills.Strong leadership and team building skills, which are essential to meet the expectations of this challenging position.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree or Equivalent, Graduate Degree highly desired.5-10 years' experience in the structural design and analysis of bridges and other transportation structures.Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work depending on project needs.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.Stantec is a place where the best and brightest come to build on each other's talents, do exciting work, and make an impact on the world around us.
