JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position in the Technical Packaging and Devices group will assist in the Concept, Design, Development, Invention, Specification, and execution within the package engineering and Devices functions for all brands and categories as a corporate role.
The individual must have the ability to:
Design and engineer in 3D CAD
Review resin selection and component drawings

Partner in the package development process

Engage with suppliers and package development groups to develop and manufacture components which meet Est--e Lauder's specifications for performance and reliability
Consult Manufacturing Engineering for efficient handling of - components at our filling locations
Analyze Tool Qualification data and Troubleshoot packaging issues
Apply innovative engineering techniques in conceptualization and problem solving
Communicate and document technical information clearly
Work with team members at all levels in the group
Work directly with PD to create technical understanding of what is technically possible, when it can be delivered, and at what preliminary cost target.
Work with partners in R&D clinical and chemical scientists.
Understand and follow the devices development Roadmap tool.
Fabricate models using various additive and subtractive processes covering 3D grown parts thru machined parts .
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop new to the world designs in Package delivery systems, devices, and small scale cell manufacturing equipment.
Provide engineering direction for form, fit and function for all primary components of the category.
Evaluate and approve engineering drawings for primary component tooling
Lead FMEA sessions involving multiple groups to insure safety , robustness, and efficacy of system performance.
Create Engineering Profiles for costing specification and create preliminary costed bills of materials

Assist our manufacturing locations and our suppliers in the fabrication and assembly of new and existing delivery systems and devices.

Consult with Design, Package Development, suppliers, and outside services as required to expedite the development process.
Participate in implementation of new systems and processes as required to improve, enhance and advance the basic mission of the Technical Packaging Group.
Actively participate in Department's innovation process and generate innovative concepts
QUALIFICATIONS:
3-5 years of experience in health & beauty / CPG, and/or Engineering Technologies industry with a proven track record of robust engineering, device and Packaging and innovation
Engineering degree preferably in Plastics, Mechanical.

Excellent fluency in 2D technical drawing review, tolerance stack-up analysis and decision making

Adept in generating 3D CAD drawings (Solidworks preferred) for part / product design including renderings and animations.
Technical knowledge in the areas of plastics injection molding, tool / mold design, and troubleshooting.
Technical knowledge of electrical systems including logic controllers, circuitry, and bench top fabrication techniques.
Basic machine design understanding and ability to understand control logic and Mechatronic Engineering Systems.
Well versed in packaging processes & materials (such as plastics, metals, glass) used in the cosmetics packaging industry
Strong analytical, statistical and communication skills
Technical mastery of fundamental engineering principles including electro mechanical systems, boundary control energy evaluations.
Understanding of device regulations and electrical regulatory compliances by region.
