City Experiences is seeking a Chief Engineer for our Seaward Services operation.

About You

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences' RESPECT Service System.

About The Opportunity

The Chief Engineer will support the safe operation of a Military High Speed Transport Vessel in fashion that will promote and maintain the utmost integrity and the highest standard of customer service within the industry, while being responsible for the proper daily operation, maintenance, and safety of all engine department machinery, equipment, and engineering spaces.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and maintain quality-working relationships with other employees and the public during the course of work
  • Establish and execute complex oral and written instructions and to apply available guidelines to various situations, and to carry on more than one function at a time in an environment subject to many distractions
  • Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and shipboard maintenance software (Sinex Solutions, Inc,)
  • Possess and demonstrate superior mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, electronic and other skills exercised in engineering management of a large motor vessel
  • Logically and independently plan, organize, and complete work assignments.
  • Ability to use analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills along with discretion, to plan, organize and execute innovative solutions to engineering problems.
  • Evidence of ability to bring increased value to task through efficiencies and cost-control
  • Excellent career record in the marine industry
  • Know location and safe operation of all safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, fire and bilge pumps, fire hoses, lifejacket lockers, emergency lighting, first aid supplies and rescue equipment.
  • Plan and organize and to meet rigid schedules and demanding time-lines.
    Requirements & Qualifications
    • Must have ten (10) years' experience as marine engineer, demonstrating ability to handle increasing levels of responsibility
    • High Speed passenger vessel experience preferred
    • Water Jet Experience preferred
    • Current or Prior MSC Training a plus
    • Maintain compliance with USCG physical standards
    • Successful completion of in-house IMO-HSC Type Rating Program
    • Be able to acquire and maintain a Secret Clearance
    • Accept immunizations as required by Contract due to area of operation and/ or nature of work
    • Participate in Seaward Services Inc, (SSI), Military Sealift Command (MSC), safety, Seamanship and other training or meetings as required.
