Job Description:

Cust-O-Fab, a leader in the design and manufacturing of shell and tube heat exchangers, vessels, towers, and other heat transfer components, in the petrochemical industry for over 40 years is currently seeking a Design Engineer in our Sand Springs location or Beaumont location.Position Summary: The Design Engineer is responsible for Production Engineering of products sold. This position is the technical lead for jobs assigned to them and supports jobs assigned to others as required.Technical lead activities include:Review & application of project specifications; summarize for application into design & fabrication drawingsServe as primary technical contact with clients; includes problem resolution and securing necessary customer document approvalsCoordinate with other departments or functions to establish information needed to complete all technical activities (Manufacturing, Purchasing, Welding Engineer, Project Manager)Perform and/or check design calculationsCreate pre-BOM to order long lead materialCoordinate with drafting personnel to complete fabrication drawingsReview of fabrication drawings for the job; create or modify fabrication drawings when requiredAnswer questions & provide support to Purchasing & ManufacturingFile management and organization of electronic records associated with assigned jobsSupport activities for jobs not assigned include (as required according to project schedules):Perform design calculationsCheck fabrication drawingsCreate or modify fabrication drawingsAdditional:Other duties as assignedThe best candidates will possess the following qualifications:Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related technical field from an accredited university, or Associates degree + 5 years industry related experience, or 10 years directly related industry experience showing progression to competency of essential job functionsMinimum 2 years experience with shell and tube heat exchangers or pressure vesselsStrong knowledge of ASME VIII Div. 1 design & construction and industry standardsFamiliarity with weld process and their application to pressure vessel productsProficiency in the following tools: RCS or COMPRESS design software, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office ProductsCust-O-Fab offers a strong benefit package including medical, dental, vision, supplemental plans, and 401k; pay is commensurate with experience.
