More Than a Job
Were hiring for a Tax Intern in our Riverhead office for January
2023 . Interns are provided with a diverse work experience exposing
them to clients in different industries and varying assignments. We
provide an open and learning based culture where you will quickly
develop skills that will lead you to success. Responsibilities
include and are not limited to the following:
Prepares individual, partnership and corporate tax returns for
clients in various industries
Prepares open item lists for clients, compiles work papers and
client files in our tax software, and reviews client information
for accuracy prior to completing a tax return
Scans and collates tax returns and researches basic tax laws
Manages electronic file maintenance using internal document
retention database
Maintains internal database with taxpayer details and staffing
modifications
Assists with accounting related projects and maintains general
ledgers
Prepares and files quarterly payroll tax returns and year-end
filings as well as reconciliations, W2s and 1099s
Handles and assists with tax estimates for various clients
Configures reports and information on client statuses to ensure
completion
Builds strong team relationship skills and works as an effective
team member to complete project components and assignment tasks
Communicates with Manager on work status and any client issues that
arises
Minimum Qualifications
Accounting major graduating by the summer of 2022 or 2023
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Works independently and also works well with others
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting with a GPA of 3.0 and above
Completed or working towards the CPA license
Completed or working towards a Masters Degree in Accounting or
Taxation
Software Experience CCH ProSystem Tax, Microsoft Office 365 and
QuickBooks
