full-time (37.5 hours/week) Monday-Friday various hours
8:00am-6:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to
work occasional overtime and weekends. Our office is located at 2
Huntington Quadrangle, Suite 4S01, Melville, NY. We offer 4 to 5
-weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00am
to 4:30pm, Monday - Friday. - -Primary Responsibilities:
- Knows, understands, and incorporates hospital mission, core
values, and vision in behaviors and decisions
- Respects and maintains patients' confidentiality of sensitive
information
- Interviews patients and/or their representatives to update
demographic, financial, and insurance data and screen for patient
eligibility in financial assistance or charity care
- Assists appropriate patients with the application process for
government programs, financial assistance, or charity care.
- Provides helpful assistance in anticipating and responding to
the needs of our patients
- Collaborates with other departments to ensure patient
continuity of care from a financial perspective.
- Serves as a technical expert in determining patients' benefit
coverage and hospital reimbursement.
- Explains out-of-network vs. in-network benefits to patients;
assists patients in obtaining exceptions to the out-of-network
determinations from insurance companies
- Explains price estimate before care, outlining patient
liabilities including copayments, coinsurance, deductibles, and
outstanding balances. Explains the hospital's payment policy and
collect applicable patient payments at point-of-service
- Establishes patient payment plans as per hospital
guidelines
- Updates patient information in all systems to ensure accurate
billing of current and future servicesYou'll be rewarded and

you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
- 2+ years of current experience in patient registration,
customer service and/or case management.
- Knowledge of third-party payer requirements knowledge,
including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance payers
- Experience with insurance benefit verification
- Ability to complete CAC certification through New York State of
Health within 30 days of hiring
- Ability to work onsite in 2 Huntington Quadrangle, Suite 4S01,
Melville, NY
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- Ability to work full-time, Monday - Friday between 8:00am -
6:00pm including the flexibility -to work occasional overtime given
the business need

- Associates Degree (or higher)
- Bilingual language skills
- Previous healthcare experience
- Previous Patient collections/customer service experience.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and medical record
coding (ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS) Soft Skills:
- Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to work
