Program Manager - Diversity, Equity & Inclusion 64055BR University Job Title Bargaining Unit None - Not included in the union (Yale Union Group) Time Type Full time Duration Type Regular Compensation Grade Administration & Operations Compensation Grade Profile Work Location Medical School Campus Work Week Standard (M-F equal number of hours per day) Searchable Job Family Administration, Business Operations, Miscellaneous Total # of hours to be worked: 37.5 Position Focus: The Project Manager would have the opportunity to help create a lasting, positive impact in fulfilling the mission of the Department of Medicine (DOM) with respect to fostering a diverse, inclusive and equitable culture.

The Project Manager will be a core member of the team, responsible for supporting all aspects of developing and implementing new projects, as well as helping to guide existing ones. This includes design, planning, management of supporting staff and trainees, collaborating with partners, managing timelines, and solving for practical logistical issues. The position manages the identification of DEI initiatives within Yale, outside institutions in the USA and abroad, and potential funding sources. Reporting to the DOM DEI Vice-Chair, the position is responsible for the development and implementation of all related program areas for the DOM DEI Center.

This position will support several DOM DEI Center project areas comprising recruitment initiatives for faculty, fellows and residents, community engagement, including pipeline programs, education, including curriculum development, implementation and evaluation, pilot program within the Center and within Sections, and the tracking and evaluation area. This position will be funded by the DOM. This position may require remote work on either a regular or temporary, part-time or full-time basis.

Essential Duties:

Keeps track of all DEI initiatives within the Center and Sections, and ensures timelines are met.
Organizes recruitment events, including faculty and trainee volunteering.
Manages and coordinates training sessions and ongoing conversations for faculty, trainees and staff.
Organizes DOM and local community engagement events.
Monitors, develops, plans, and executes systematic research through such mechanisms as surveys, interviews, focus groups and competitive analysis. 1. Oversees the advancement and growth of the program. Gives direction and leadership supporting the philosophy, mission, strategy, and annual goals and objectives. Assumes primary accountability for disseminating and publishing all program information to create public awareness and support of the program. 2. Works closely with leadership, internal and external colleagues, and community residents to further develop and implement strategic plans. 3. Identifies, solicits, and cultivates community partnerships and collaborations to assist in the development and growth of the program. Develops the metrics to identify and measure the success of the program. Responsible for measurements of grant success and related evaluation. 4. Assists in identifying and evaluating potential future funding sources, and contributes to the submission of grants and contracts supporting the program, including the annual submission and writing of all content areas and budgetary sections of grant applications. Develops and manages the program's operating budget. 5. Develops the administrative infrastructure of the program. Manages human resource and administrative functions of the program, including staffing and hiring, supervision, performance development, counseling and discipline, if warranted. Oversees and manages information systems, facilities, and space needs. 6. Investigates, identifies, implements, and oversees the maintenance of systems to gather, track, and report information to support the initiatives of the program. Tracks all program activities and regularly informs leadership of progress on each initiative. Recommends structural or programmatic adjustments, changes or additions based on full knowledge of missions, goals, and objectives. 7. Initiates, designs, and manages the compilation of program communications; identifying outreach potential, and promoting philanthropic and collaborative support of the program. Contributes to the development and assists in the management of content on the program's website and monitors all changes and additions to the editorial content. 8. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Minimum requirement of Bachelor's Degree in a related field and four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Skill/Ability 1: Professionalism, maturity, good judgment, and the ability to work with confidential material. The ability to work remotely including an adequate work space with internet access. Required Skill/Ability 2: Previous experience working in DEI and/or healthcare disparity. Required Skill/Ability 3: Organized with capability of handling multiple/diverse tasks and projects simultaneously. Required Skill/Ability 4: Superior interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills as well as the ability to work effectively and independently with a wide variety of external and internal stakeholders. Required Skill/Ability 5: Creative, self-directed, and a self-starter with the ability to work, plan, research, and conduct projects with minimal supervision and on a flexible schedule. Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: Bachelor's Degree in related field and 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Master's degree strongly preferred. Experience in computer skills-Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint, Qualtrics, and Zoom.
